Sekaiyah Gomes will be a junior this upcoming school year at Boston Community Leadership Academy. She has always loved art and was inspired by her mother to do something in the arts. She lost her passion of visual arts but became interested in performing arts. For five years she played the violin in elementary school and middle school. She didn't realize that there were different forms of art that she wanted to explore and understand on a personal level. Sekaiyah began playing the guitar and connecting with art through music. Listening to Bob Marley and old cape verdean beats were the roots of her love of music at a young age. Her ambitions were always unclear but she knew creating art and expressing herself was enough. Being a part of the Bloomberg Arts Internship and an intern in the Education department at The Huntington Theatre Company, she saw how collaboration in education and theater was vital in creating active workshops for students and exciting events for the plays. She noticed she would not have been able to work actively if she didn't have guidance and stopped asking questions. Sekaiyah is always searching for opportunities to give meaning to the art she creates and where the arts may lead her.

He continued going back, learning more and more from this staff member until he could do it on my own. Michael has his own personal DAW (Digital Audio Workspace, FL Studios), and makes music for himself and his friends. He wants to pursue a possible career in music production because it is something that he enjoys doing and comes relatively natural to him.
