2019 Cohort Headshots & Bios

Alejandro Flores is a graduate of Dr. William Henderson K-12 Inclusion School. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at the Museum of Fine Arts. A highlight of his internship experience was learning and exploring the various exhibits at the Museum of Fine Arts. One thing he learned was how to work with and learn from others in order to develop the museum presentations and exhibits. Alejandro enjoys drawing and painting as well as movies and spending time with his family and two older brothers.

Amy Uddin is a 12th grader at Boston Latin School. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Community Music Center of Boston. A highlight of her internship experience was understanding how people with an interest in art are helping the community. One thing she learned was how a non-profit organization executes its mission statement. Amy enjoys photography, designing, and drawing.

Camila Gonzalez is a 12th grader at Snowden International School. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Handel and Haydn Society. A highlight of her internship experiencing an office job. One thing she learned was organization and time management. Camila enjoys art, singing, and dancing.

D’Ahmen Holloman is a 12th grader at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at the Museum of Science. A highlight of his internship experience were the college tours. One thing he learned was how to write a college essay. D’Ahmen enjoys writing.

Eleasah Whittaker is a graduate of Boston Day and Evening Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Actors’ Shakespeare Project. A highlight of her internship experience was putting on The Tempest with her ensemble. One thing she learned was how the various moving parts of a production interact. Eleasah enjoys playing volleyball.

Hewett Mebrahtu is an 11th grader at Boston Arts Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at North End Music and Performing Arts Center. A highlight of her internship experience was researching local arts organizations and learning more about Boston arts and culture. Hewett enjoys drawing and making new friends.

James Florius is a 12th grader at Community Academy of Science and Health. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at OrigiNation Cultural Arts Center. A highlight of his internship experience was when he met one of his favorite dancers on Youtube on Miss Dibinga's birthday. One thing he learned was that you can be better by staying yourself and always believe in you. James enjoys photography.

Jarieliz Rodriguez is a 12th grader at Boston Community Leadership Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Urbanity Dance. A highlight of her internship experience was finding new friendships at her worksite while also being able to provide for a helpful service, collaborate with her supervisor, and gain work experience. One thing she learned was how to take data from one Google Sheet document and transfer it to a new one, she also learned how to promote the company and increase student retention. Jarieliz enjoys drawing.

Jingsi Li is a graduate of The English High School. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at the Museum of Fine Arts. A highlight of her internship was the experience of working in a museum. One thing she learned was how the curators create exhibitions. Jingsi enjoys drawing and shopping.

Kennia Encarnacion is a 12th grader at Charlestown High School. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Urbanity Dance. A highlight of her internship experience was getting to participate in a hip hop dance class. One thing she learned was how to process data for an organization. Kennia enjoys music and singing.

Kervens Felix is a graduate of Burke High School. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at Hyde Square Task Force. A highlight of his internship experience was performing a play in front of an audience. One thing he learned was how to work and move together with an ensemble. Kervens enjoys fashion, basketball, and visual arts.

Kiara Nichols is a 12th grader at John D. O’Bryant. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Hyde Square Task Force. A highlight of her internship experience was her growth as a performer from the Hyde Square Task Force theatre art team. One thing she learned was how to communicate and organize to spread culture throughout the neighborhood. Kiara enjoys listening to various types of music that speaks to her.

Lordorina Hercules is a 12th grader at Boston International Newcomers Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at OrigiNation Cultural Arts Center. A highlight of her internship experience was applying for grants, visiting universities, and the 826 Boston writing workshops. One thing she learned was how to do research and apply for grants. Lordorina enjoys reading, watching movies and documentaries, analyzing, and listening to music.

Marianelys Tejeda is a 12th grader at Boston Arts Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at North End Music and Performing Arts Center. A highlight of her internship experience was collaboratively designing a t-shirt for the organization. Marianelys enjoys visual arts.

Natalia Reyes is a 12th grader at Boston Arts Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Huntington Theatre Company. A highlight of her internship experience was learning more about graphic design. One thing she learned was Adobe InDesign. Natalia enjoys drawing.

Nayelie Acevedo is a 12th grader at The English High School. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at the Institute of Contemporary Art. A highlight of her internship experience was participating in workshops at her worksite. One thing she learned was fundamental knowledge about photography and music production. Nayelie enjoys debate, volleyball, singing, dancing, and acting.

Omar Mohamed is a 12th grader at New Mission High School. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at Lyric Stage Company. A highlight of his internship experience was working in the theatre preparing for an upcoming show. Omar enjoys film making and perfecting his craft.

Richelys Sanchez is a 12th grader at Fenway High. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción. A highlight of her internship experience was getting help with her college essay. One thing she learned was to apply to colleges that have her interests. Richelys enjoys dancing.

Samil Battenfeld is a 12th grader at Boston Arts Academy. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at Actors’ Shakespeare Project. A highlight of his internship experience was Learning new aspects of the theatre world. One thing he learned was how to schedule a season for a theater. Samil enjoys drawing.

Sebastián Jimenez is a 12th grader at Boston International Newcomers Academy. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at Huntington Theatre Company. A highlight of his internship experience was going to shows at the theatre and meeting actor Billy Porter. One thing he learned was how to develop a social media plan. Sebastián enjoys traveling.

Sebastien Mentor is a 12th grader at Excel High. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. A highlight of his internship experience was making a short film. One thing he learned was to socialize with others. Sebastien enjoys creative writing.

Simone Riley is a 12th grader at Boston Green Academy. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Handel and Haydn Society. A highlight of her internship experience was spending time with the rest of the BAI interns. One thing she learned was that taking on an experience you haven't done yet can totally help in a college essay. Simone enjoys arts, music and singing.

Terrell Evans is a 12th grader at Excel High. He completed his Bloomberg Arts Internship at Community Music Center Boston. A highlight of his internship experience was learning from each department at CMCB. Terrell enjoys drawing with Copic markers.

Thalia Cruz is a graduate of Brighton High School. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at Boston Lyric Opera. A highlight of her internship experience was setting up the sound for a concert at Magazine Beach.This summer she learned computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel as well as databases like Tessitura and DonorSearch. Thalia enjoys sports, music, and video games.

Tyia Coston is a 12th grader at John D. O’Bryant. She completed her Bloomberg Arts Internship at MASSCreative. A highlight of her internship experience was the celebration trips that she took with her worksite. One thing she learned was how to edit videos and audio. Tyia enjoys softball.
